Kendrick Lamar and fiancée Whitney Alford welcome first child
American rapper Kendrick Lamar and his fiancée, Whitney Alford, have welcomed their first child and it’s a baby girl.
According to Us Weekly, the baby was born on Friday (July 26). The couple kept the pregnancy private and did not publicly announce it ahead of time.
The Grammy-winning rapper, 32, and makeup artist, 33, have been together for over a decade after meeting in High School.
In an April 2015, Kendrick confirmed in an interview on Power FM that he was engaged to his high school sweetheart. “Yeah, yeah, definitely,” he said when asked about Alford. “I’m loyal to the soil. At the end of the day you want to always have real people around you, period–whether male or female.”
“I wouldn’t even call her my girl,” he told Billboard in January 2015. “That’s my best friend. I don’t even like the term that society has put in the world as far as being a companion–she’s somebody I can tell my fears to.”
