A Kenyan woman, Elizabeth Nalem, who got ‘married’ to the ‘Holy Spirit’ last year has been found dead.

The decomposed body of the mother of six, was found in a forest on Saturday.

According to police report, Nalem had left her home a week earlier with a panga and a walking stick headed to the forest only for her decomposed and mutilated body to be found in the forest.

Police are investigating whether the woman was attacked by the animals in the forest. They suspect the body of Elizabeth has been in the forest for over a week.

Last year, Nalem left her matrimonial home and ‘wedded the holy spirit”’ in a bizarre ceremony.

According to the woman’s husband Joshua Nalem, Elizabath left their home to a nearby shopping centre only to be alerted by locals that the woman was ‘”wedding the holy spirit’”.

“One of our neighbours called me, saying that she had seen my wife in a wedding gown and on my arrival, I found her exchanging vows with an unseen groom,” he said.

He said they have been living happily and had not engaged in any quarrel that could have forced her to change her mind about their marriage.

“I don’t know what is disturbing my wife. We are married and blessed with six children. I have fully paid her bride price. I paid 22 cows,” he said.

After the ceremony, the lady is said to have travelled to Amudat in Uganda for her honeymoon thereafter deserting her matrimonial home.

The lady had said that God had sent her to preach the Gospel. That’s why she closed her hotel business since it could interfere with her new assignment.
