Kofi Kingston gets a royal welcome in Ejisu

Visiting WWE World Champion, Kofi Kingston has visited his hometown of Ejisu in the Ashanti Region.

He arrived in his father’s hometown, Ejisu on Saturday to a very warm reception from the youth in the town, where he also visited his grandparent’s house.

Kofi later met the Chief of the Ejisu Traditional Area, Nana Afrane Okese IV and described the experience as “a powerful day of connecting with my heritage!”.

 

Kofi Kingston born Kofi Nahaje Sarkodie-Mensah is visiting Ghana, the place of his birth for the first time in 26 years. His 4-day promotional trip is being filmed for a future WWE Network documentary.

Kofi’s so far has seen him meeting with President Nana Akufo-Addo. He also visited the Taifa Community School today with UNICEF Ghana, and spent some time with the children and their teachers. He got the chance to reemphasise the importance of education while inspiring the children to follow their dreams.
