Ghanaian film maker, Leila Djansi has held a special screening for her latest movie, ‘Ties That Bind’ for select invited guests, journalists, investors and industry people in Toronto.  The screening, which took place at the Cumberland Theatre in Yorkville, Downtown Toronto saw two of the movie’s stars, Ebbe Bassey and Ama K Abebrese in attendance.

The other lead actresses, Kimberly Elise and Omotola Jolade Ekeinde couldn’t make the Toronto screening because they are both currently filming on various sets. The movie was well received by guests and is already gaining rave reviews in the media. “Ties That Bind’ tells the story of Adobea (Omotola Jolade Ekeinde), Buki (Ama K Abebrese) and Theresa (Kimberly Elise), three women from different walks of life bound together by a similar pain; the loss of a child. In a destined meeting in a small village in Kroboland, the women journey together to redemption, love, life and forgiveness as they renovate a dilapidated clinic for the villagers.

“Ties That Bind’ premieres in Accra at the National Theatre on December 30.
