Emerging Nigerian rapper, Laji Dwayem has released his light-hearted take on Whiz Khalifa’s sleeper hit, ‘Black & Yellow’. Originally produced by Norwegian production duo, Stargate, Laji Dwayem’s rendition brings a more relatable perspective to the Black & Yellow theme by comparing it to the ubiquitous yellow and black colours seen on cabs and buses in the Lagos metropolis.

In the first two days of its release, requests for the song were so much it exceeded the bandwidth of the site it was hosted on. In addition his version also spawned 2 other versions of the song in the same number of days – by upcoming rapper Beazy and Ghanaian Justin Mau. <<<DOWNLOAD>>>

Laji Dwayem embodies the essence of the Underground Nigerian music scene. Sharing Ibadan roots with other musical acts such as Blaise and DJ Klem, he has earned his stripes as far as being in and around the game is concerned.  He was known as E.Y.M.E. until circumstances in life brought about a change in his musical identity. His body of work includes a feature on Da Suspekt’s “I no send you” [Naija All star mix with Wyclef] as well as participation in the Channel O Emcee Africa 2 that earned him a position as one of the top 10 finalists for Nigeria.
