Mmebusem reveals why he stopped releasing his ‘Ghana Jesus’ videos

Well known Ghanaian Actor and skit maker, Justice Hymns, popularly Mmebusem has detailed reasons for puting a stop to his usual video releases portraying himself as Christ and entertaining the public.

It will be recalled that Mmebusem gained widespread attention for his humorous skits depicting everyday scenarios with a religious twist, often featuring himself as a caricature of Jesus Christ. However, for a while now, the actor seem to have put a halt to the release of such videos raising concern from his fans and content lovers. 

In a candid revelation on One Ghana TV on Youtube, Mmebusem shared that his decision to cease producing ‘Ghana Jesus’ videos stemmed from disapproval from his parents particularly his mother. According to him, While his comedic portrayal garnered immense popularity among audiences, particularly on social media platforms, familial concerns ultimately influenced his choice to discontinue the series.

He explained that his parents weren’t supportive of his viral social media videos, pressuring him to seek alternative means of livelihood. Their disapproval stemmed from the criticism that he mocking Jesus Christ in his skits, which deeply concerned them.

Aside the pressure and advice from his parents, the actor stated that he received several treats, prophecies and warnings from some Ghanaians, most especially clergymen who seemed not to like the content he produced.

In spite of the hiatus, Mmebusem made known that he is focused on winning more souls for Christ. Despite the comedic intent behind his portrayal of ‘Ghana Jesus,’ Mmebusem’s decision to respect his parents’ wishes reflects a deeper consideration of cultural sensitivities and familial harmony.
