MTNCarol2018: Patapaa fights fan over chicken, Miss Ghana 2018 ‘awkward’ moment, Kuami Eugene thrills audience

This years’ MTN Christmas Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols came off last night at the Fantasy Dome of the Trade Fair Centre was nothing short of a fun-packed night of music and laughter.

The show was hosted by comedian Foster Romanus and like any MTN Festival of 9 lessons and carols, the night was filled with a mix of comedy, music, as well as the readings of the nine lessons and carols. The nine chosen Bible verses for this year were read by celebrities and business leaders which included Slip Music CEO Mark Okraku Mantey, Black Stars assistant manager Maxwell Konadu, celebrated lawyer Kofi Abotsi, among others.

There was a fit of laughter as reigning Miss Ghana Nana Ama Benson, struggled to read her Bible verses after having said
“Luktuutu” instead of Luke Chapter 2 verse 2.

After every Bible reading, a top Ghanaian music star joined the choir to cheer the crowd with a chosen carol. The biggest cheers of the night went up when Kuami Eugene, Kwesi Arthur, and Patapaa all came up on stage to perform with a pot of chicken and ended up fighting a fan who tried taking one from him. Past MTN HItmaker winners Freda Rhymes, Koo Ntakra, Togbe, and O.V teamed up to give a powerful performance.

Kaakyire Kwame Appiah also spiced the night with his legendary Christmas song ’24 (Ko Wo Krom).
