I am not surprised at all to find out online that a fight broke out between Nigerian rapper, Ikechukwu and a bouncer at the Rehab Club on Ajose Adeogun Street, not too far away from the venue of the 2010 MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMA) some few hours after the award ceremony. My Nigerian friend took be to the Rehab Club after the MAMAs and I witnessed the hustle it takes to get into that club. With a long queue outside and people struggling to make it inside, I am not surprised that a short tempered person like Ikechukwu in the full glory of hip-hop swagger would want to fight anyone just for the hell of it.  Oh by the way Ikechukwu’s Range Rover license plate reads ‘Killz’!

According to eye witness reports, the bouncers wouldn’t let Ikechukwu through the gates and he flipped. They let Naeto C and Sauce Kid in a few minutes before Ikechukwu arrived and it looked like it was deliberate. This perhaps aggravated matters leading to the fight.  During the rumpus, Ikechukwu took his off his shirt and his designer sunglasses fell off before hitting the bouncer in face.  However the bouncer didn’t retaliate.
The rapper has since apologized for his unruly behaviour. Addressing the issue on twitter, Ikechukwu tweeted “If u party at rehab pls don’t talk to me. That club is dead to me. A bouncer put his hands on me for what ????? FUCK REHAB aNd all its fucking people”

“I stOpped going to rehab cos not only does the club just suck as far as space is concerned but it always has one funny smell. Then I just can’t stand the people running the club. Feel among dey vex them. If I no gree be ur friend no be by force na. Ah jo oo”

“Just wanna apologize to my fans for bringing myself so low yesterday. This is not the kind of character I portray or expect anyone else to. People will always test u. Show strength with restraint. God bless!”
