<![CDATA[It’s always exciting when it comes to the Virgin Atlantic Heroes Awards each year. It’s a time when Virgin Atlantic can celebrate the people who have been nominated by their peers for truly living the brand values in every sense. A Virgin Atlantic hero is a true everyday pioneer; they display an endless passion for their work and never stop trying to go that extra mile.
Olivia is a Ticketing Supervisor in the Accra office and is a big asset to the team. Her uplifting and positive attitude means she provides a personal touch when leading, motivating and mentoring the Ticketing and Reservations team. Olivia will always go above and beyond and encourages others to follow despite the day-to-day challenges they often face. She has an eye for revenue generation too and Olivia has helped to raise the target profile of Accra sales by more than doubling target expectations.
Over 9000 Virgin Atlantic employees worldwide all work really hard, there are some very special people in the business so to be chosen as a ‘Hero’ is a big deal and at Virgin Atlantic people are made to feel like that when they come to the awards. This is Virgin Atlantics Heroes eighth year, and over that time they’ve recognised over 400 Heroes, and just over 4500 nominations. In the last two years there has been an introduction of new Rounds so that more people are recognised throughout the year, not just at an event at the end. Over a 100 people and their guests are taken to the O2 arena to see bands like Backstreet Boys, Coldplay, Rihanna and JLS prior to the day of the awards.
The waiting was finally over on Thursday night, 28th June as all of the 2011 Heroes finalists gathered at the Conservatory, Painshill Park, Cobham in London to enjoy an evening of fun, fine dining and dancing and to find out who would be crowned as Heroes and the overall Superhero.
“It was a fantastic evening and a great way to celebrate all the amazing Heroes stories and successes from the past year. Painshill Park was the perfect setting to celebrate Heroes. Its beautiful garden gave us a great excuse to enjoy the glimmer of sunshine and sip Pimms outside. We were entertained in the garden before being shown through to the Conservatory for dinner, dancing and celebrations. It was an absolutely amazing evening. ” said Olivia donkor.
