<![CDATA[The Marina Mall, which has provided a unique shopping experience for families from all walks of life since it started operations in Accra, was officially launched at a well attended ceremony on Thursday. The fast emerging leading family center was officially launched by the Honorable Minister of Trade and Industry Haruna Iddrisu, under the authority of His Excellency John Dramani Mahama. Also in attendance were Egypt and Lebanon’s Ambassadors to Ghana.  Honorable Haruna Iddrisu who cut the sod to symbolize the opening of the mall was taken on a tour around the mall by the Management of the Mall, which included the founders and their Mother, ‘Mama Marina’. The Mall also attempted to create the biggest sandwich ever in Ghana with an impressive sandwich which was over 100metres long, as well as a massive cake which was cut by Hon Haruna Iddrisu to mark the official opening of the mall. Marina Mall is an ultra modern shopping mall with its unique dual commercial development that includes offices, one of the biggest supermarkets in the country, an entertainment centre, restaurants, fashion shops and health&beauty care shops. It’s a prestigious shopping center where the whole family can get to shop, enjoy, relax and have an ultimate shopping experience.   Marina Mall is owned by Marina Market Ghana which belongs to Marina Group, a company founded in 1989 and located in Ghana, Burkina Faso and Niger. The mall has a six level tower of offices with an approximate area of 3,250 m2 occupied by Nestle Central and West Africa, Technip Ghana/UK and Hess Ghana Exploration. It also has a three level shopping area covering a total space of 9,000 m2. It is estimated that the traffic generated by the Mall will be about 3000 to 4000 people on week days and 4000 to 8000 on weekends. Marina is certain of achieving this figure because the shops in the Mall have been carefully selected to meet majority of the needs of its clients. The Mall is also strategically positioned, proximity to the International Airport, Airport Residential Area, Cantonments, Golden Tulip Hotel, Holiday Inn, the upcoming Marriot Hotel and the other offices in the Airport City area.
