Cleo Ice Queen has done it again. Arguably the best female emcee in Africa, 2012 South African Hip Hop awards nominee (Best female category), Cleo Ice Queen is a female emcee who has clear goals and knows where she is headed. With only the release of one mixtape in 2012 Cleo Ice Queen is somewhat of a triple threat as she is a rapper, model and television personality.
The last music video Cleo shot for her mixtape titled ‘Big Dreams’ featuring J.K is taken off her debut mixtape Topic Of Discussion, is currently sitting on 150 000 views on youtube since its release and has had great airplay on channel O , Trace tv’s Africa 10 chart , and mtv base.
The brand new single by Cleo after Big dreams is “timime koko” which is the first official single off Cleo’s debut album which will be titled GeminIce. Timime koko is a fusion of sounds with Cleo rapping on your non conventional hip hop beat in vernacular as well as Cleo showcasing her vocal abilities. The sound is afro pop and you can’t help but feel the African essence very strongly.
