<![CDATA[DStv packs some amazing dose of royalty lined up for the month of June. Check out some of the highlights:
The Diamond Queen: This landmark documentary series celebrates Queen Elizabeth II’s 60 years as Head of State of the United Kingdom and Head of the Commonwealth. To mark the occasion The Diamond Queen presents a definitive analysis of the Queen’s reign, examining her history, constitutional role, responsibilities and global impact. DStv audiences can tune into BBC World News on 3, 10 and 17 June at 19:00 CAT to watch this three-episode programme as it closely follows the Queen’s working engagements around the world for the period of more than a year and features interviews with prime ministers, world leaders and members of the Royal Family.
The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee: Thames Pageant: This stunning event takes place at high water on the River Thames and will consist of up to 1 000 boats assembled from across the UK, the Commonwealth and around the world. DStv audiences can tune into BBC Entertainment on Sunday 3 June at 15:00 CAT to watch this live broadcast which will feature one of the largest flotillas ever to be assembled on the river in modern times with music barges and boats spouting geysers, the flotilla will also consist of passenger boats carrying up to 30 000 flag-waving members of the public placed centre stage (or rather mid-river) in this floating celebration of Her Majesty’s 60 year reign. The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh and other members of the Royal Family will be aboard the Royal Barge as it makes it journey from Putney to Tower Bridge. The longer flotilla journey (including mustering, dispersal and the Avenue of Sail) is from Hammersmith to Greenwich stretching for an estimated twelve and a half miles.
The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee: BBC Concert at Buckingham Palace: This show features a line-up of musical stars from the worlds of rock and pop, along with the best of classical music and musical theatre, will perform at The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Concert, at Buckingham Palace. DStv audiences can tune into BBC Entertainment on Monday 4 June at 20:30 CAT to watch this historic concert, a celebration of The Queen’s 60-year reign through music, will be attended by Her Majesty the Queen, His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh and other members of the Royal Family. Staged in the stunning surroundings of the Queen Victoria Memorial in front of Buckingham Palace, the BBC and Take That front man Gary Barlow have brought together leading talent from the world of music. The concert will include classic hits and one-off collaborations from artists including Sir Elton John, Sir Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, Kylie Minogue, Annie Lennox and Sir Cliff Richard.
The Royal Bodyguard: The Royal Bodyguard follows the escapades of Captain Guy Hubble (Sir David Jason), an ex-guardsman who saw action in Cyprus and Northern Ireland. Think disaster-stricken and clumsy: now Head of Security at Buckingham Palace car park, he is surprisingly appointed as Royal Bodyguard after saving the Queen’s life in an act of bravery on the day of the State Opening of Parliament. This is much to the frustration of Hubble’s boss Colonel Dennis Whittington, who is desperate to see the back of Hubble and knows only too well about his relentless mishaps. DStv audiences can tune into BBC Entertainment from Tuesday 2 June at 20:00 CAT to watch how Hubble soon manages to upset foreign ambassadors, his colleagues and members of the public as he haphazardly carries out his security checks and takes on personal rescue missions for the Queen and her family. Hubble manages to endanger Royal security repeatedly and on a colossal scale, yet somehow comes up smelling of roses every time.
Twenty Twelve: DStv audiences can tune into BBC Entertainment from Tuesday 5 June at 22:00 CAT to watch Twenty Twelve, which is deliciously topical, wickedly funny and a cautionary tale on how not to stage a major global sporting event. Filmed in a documentary style, Twenty Twelve deals with such hot topics as how to phase the traffic lights across London to get people from west to east, who to sell the Taekwondo hall to after the event, what to do when protesters leave large quantities of horse dung on the doorstep in protest at the location of the equestrian events site, and how to cope with sportsmen who want to help but are just too dull.

It centres on the leaking of her cover by the Bush administration as a repercussion for her husband and former ambassador Joseph Wilson, penning an editorial in the New York Times disputing the administration’s claim of WMD in Iraq.
