In Zambia, citizens have placed a ban on playing South African music on their airwaves, and one DJ who flouted the directive found himself in big trouble.

While many celebrities have publicly spoken against the recent xenophobic attacks in South Africa, some Zambians have been reacting in a more harsh way as a means of retaliation.

Described as DJ Hero, the Zambian DJ has reportedly received some severe beatings for playing South African music in a club.

In a post on Facebook, fellow Zambian DJ, Star DJ Virus shared the news of the incident yesterday.
