<![CDATA[For the first time since the inception of Vodafone Icons, the winner that I predicted has lost out well ahead of the finals. Last week’s eviction show of the ongoing Vodafone ICONS Street Edition was double shock as two of the show’s best performing acts – Zakia and Seed – saw their dreams shattered in front of them. This week, three contestants – Zakia, Seed and Buda – with the least number of votes found themselves in the bottom three. After host, Benny Blanco had disclosed that two contestant will be evicted, the judges, Appietus, Miss Naa and guest judge, Rudy Kwaakye were tasked to save one of the three. Appietus saved Buda while Miss Naa opted to saved Seed. She questioned why Seed was in the bottom three. Rudy Kwaakye said considering the performances so far he had no choice but to save Buda. His decision, however, did not go down too well with some people in the crowd as some walked out of the auditorium. Personally, I dont agree with his decision because Seed is the best singer on the show. Anyway this is the street edition so I guess judges were looking for something different. The total grand prize of GHc250,000 include a Kia Sportage, GHc50,000 cash and a recording deal with Universal Records. To avoid your favourite from being evicted from the show, one needs to text the contestant’s ‘name’ and then also text YES if they want a contestant to stay. However, if they don’t want them to stay then they can text NO to 3030 on the Vodafone Network or 1732 for all other networks.]]>
