<![CDATA[AC Milan midfielder Sulley Muntari has been ruled out of the start of new Serie A season following a freak injury. The Milan midfielder, who enjoyed a successful first season at the San Siro, was playing football in Ghana when he injured himself kicking the ball. “I was playing football with mates on the football field (not on the beach) last week preparing myself before pre-season started on 9th July. It’s unfortunate but these things happen. There was no tackle, I just felt something in my knee when I kicked the ball and immediately knew something was wrong so I immediately called the AC Milan doctor.” “The club has been very close to me during this period. I spoke to Adriano Galliani before I went in for surgery, he was angry and he has every right to be, but he told me not to worry. I have not heard of a possible reduction of my salary.” “I know my body and what its reaction will be: I will be back soon. I’m not saying I’ll recover in a couple of days and I know I can’t push myself too far, but I will be back soon. I want to give my all to the club that has always been close to me and given me a wonderful new life as a footballer. ”]]>
