The 2009 MTV Africa Music Awards Best Newcomer Nominee from Tanzania and one of East Africa’s most exciting new stars, Sarah Kaisi, or more commonly known as SHAA have signed to Rockstar 4000 Music Entertainment – the African continent’s first Pan African 360 Music & Entertainment Company and Record Label.

The deal with Rockstar 4000 begins this month and will see this young new superstar diva in the making from East Africa SHAA in an historic, exclusive worldwide digital distribution deal, having her music made available commercially to a global audience of millions. Rockstar 4000, through its exclusive Pan African partnership with Sony Music Entertainment Africa, will distribute her music and video catalogue to hundreds of digital storefronts worldwide, including major digital music services like iTunes®, Amazon MP3, Napster, eMusic, Rhapsody, Beatport, YouTube, Vevo, Zune, MySpace Music, Spotify, SKY, Juno Download, Boomkat, and Turntable Lab and mobile carriers and outlets such as Verizon Wireless, Sprint, AT&T, T-Mobile and Nokia (to name a few) via Sony’s partnership with the San Francisco-based digital distributor IODA.

“I first experienced SHAA while producing a live MTV show in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and was immediately sold on her potential as a complete package. There are only a few female artists on the continent at present that can hold the energy and entertainment value on stage that SHAA possess and she truly comes alive at her best as a great live performer” says the CEO & Founder of Rockstar 4000, Jandre Louw.

Sarah Kaisi, now commonly known as SHAA, is a 24 year old talented Tanzanian musician in every sense of the word. This daring young Diva was born on the 7th of November 1985 in a family of four and lives in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. As described by her friends and family, SHAA is a vibrant, beautiful, crazy (in a good way) and creative person with a unique sense of style.

SHAA grew up in a musical family and her debut into the music industry took place in early 2004 with the group “WAKILISHA” of the East Africa Coca Cola Pop stars. With the hit single “Hoi” under their belts SHAA and her fellow group members won themselves a spot in the Tanzania music industry. However, due to her studies and personal goals, SHAA left the group and went to Washington DC to further her studies in another passion of hers which is Art. Nevertheless, SHAA made sure to always leave her fans with something to remember her with. Therefore, during her studying period, SHAA released two singles under the management of WAKILISHA’s previous manager.

In October 2008 SHAA landed herself a major record deal with a prominent record label in Tanzania called MJ Records. Under MJ Records, SHAA has managed to record her first Solo Album named “ZAMU YANGU” which means “IT”S MY TURN”. According to SHAA this album is called that because her X-group members have already released their solo projects so now it’s high time her fans hear from her.

The album ZAMU YANGU carries Ten songs and influenced by many of SHAA’s favorite music genre’s such as Zouk, Reggae and Bongo Flavor (Tanzania’s Sound). Singles from the album have had rave reviews not only in Tanzania but across the entire East Africa. This young diva is a complete package and an electrifying dancer and live performer and has truly carved out a name for herself and most recently was recognized on a Pan African platform by MTV and nominated within the Best Newcomer of The Year category at the 2009 MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMA) alongside MI (Nigeria), STL (Kenya), Bigiano (Nigeria) and Rhythmic Elements (South Africa) which goes to prove that it is really ‘SHAA’s turn.’
