Los Angeles based Tebazile Jewellery recently opened its first shop in Ghana amidst pomp and pageantry. With sexy models displaying the priceless jewels in an outdoor photo shoot on several platforms including a motorbike, patrons had a peek into the collection before the shop was dully opened. The shop, which is located inside the Allys Plaza in Dzorwolu is stocked with Tebazile’s pioneering ‘tribal-chic’ designs defined by indigenous bold patterns that reflect ethnic textures and native culture.

The dramatic hand-crafted pieces are timeless statement pieces that create an unparalleled blend of elegant tradition as well as modern sexiness. Tebazile crafts various, mixed-media into spirited, bold and yet wearable pieces with a balance of colour and form. Carnelian, Onyx, Turquoise are signature elements found throughout the collection with various metals, used primarily as accents, lending itself to striking texture in the collection.

Tebazile consists of four major ranges, which span every look and caters to different kinds of women; Deco, Bubbles, Sheba and Serendipity. The Deco range is defined by bold silhouettes and vibrant colours that are guaranteed to make a statement. As the name implies, Bubbles is inspired by bubbles, the frames are characterised by a fusion of various sized rings. Sheba is the chandelier-like pendant or earring frame, quite subtle yet very striking! Serendipity is Tebazile’s version of the ‘minimalist’ piece. It is light and elegantly whimsical, perfect for layering, when purchased in multiple strands and can be worn day or night.

The Tebazile collection currently includes rings, earrings, necklaces, bangles, cuffs, anklets, and belts but plans are far advanced for the introduction of watches and trinkets for jeans to the collections soon. There are also rosary necklaces and bangles for men currently. According to Charles Claude-Enin, Managing Director of Tebazile, their pieces are affordable with prices ranging from 25 dollar up 15,000 dollars depending on the design and the stones used. He adds that the assorted gems used in creating these ‘tribal-chic’ ornaments are from different parts of the world and each piece is created uniquely.

“The response to the collection has been tremendously encouraging and we are constantly evolving and creating inspired objects of beauty, based on the same philosophy we started with. Our strategy is to create a niche and continued awareness of the collection and to ensure successful client relationships worldwide.  We are confident that there is a Tebazile piece for every woman out there”, comments Elizabeth Dankaro, Head Designer of Tebazile.

Tebazile pieces have been featured in numerous publications such as US Instyle, UK Vogue, Tatler, GQ and several TV shows. It also boasts of a celebrity following such as Halle Berry, Cameron Diaz, Paris Hilton, Janet Jackson, Ciara, Mya, Erica Christensen, Sienna Guillroy, Jessica Lange, and Patricia Heaton.
