One of the most educating and entertaining reality TV series on Ghanaian Television, The Challenge is set to make a glorious return, giving another young graduate the opportunity to further his/her education in a prestigious university in the UK. The British Council in partnership with telecommunications company, TIGO has announced the beginning of Season 3 of the reality series.

The Education UK Reality TV Show which has witnessed two successful editions is designed to give bright young ambitious Ghanaian university graduates the opportunity to study under postgraduate scholarships at leading Universities in the United Kingdom.

Season three has at stake full board postgraduate scholarships worth £70,000 with the top two candidates guaranteed a postgraduate admission at the Robert Gordon University and University of Westminster accompanied by a fully paid accommodation in an international students’ hostel, a monthly living allowance.

Out of the thousands of applications expected to come in, 25 semi-finalists will be selected through a combination of aptitude and psychographic tests, demonstrations of academic excellence, leadershipcompetencies, as well as character and creativity.

These 25 candidates will undergo a series of interviews by a panel which includes representatives of the partner universities, who will shortlist the candidates to 12 finalists to participate in the thirteen week Reality TV Show.

The 12finalists will receive extensive personal and professional development training and compete against each other in a series of weekly tests, debates, tasks and quizzes in management, leadership, creativity and UK-Ghana trivia.

The contestants will be adjudged by a 3-member Scholarship Committee; named “THE BOARD” to be made up of renowned business leaders. Depending on performance against set criteria, three contestants would be nominated by the Board for eviction.

Seven (7) out of the12 contestants will be evicted over a twelve-week period. The 5 remaining contestants will go head-to-head in a final contest to determine the winner of the grand prize who on completion of the post-graduate course will return to Ghana well prepared for the lucrative job market.

The runner up will also receive a one-year postgraduate scholarships and accommodation in the UK.

‘The Challenge’ will run for 13 weeks on the national broadcaster, GTV and GH One Entertainment TV and will afford the general public the opportunity to participate as studio audience and via weekly SMS prize draws and eviction voting.
