Tinny takes on Sarkodie and says Kwaw Kese did not deserve his 2008 Ghana Music Award sweep!

Published

Rapper, Tinny has raised questions about the credibility of the Ghana Music Awards, especially in the year Kwaw Kese swept majority of the awards. In the  2008 edition of the awards, Kwaw Kese picked 5 awards including ‘Artiste of the Year’. The wins came on the back of his ‘Abodam’ album with songs like ‘Odiem’, ‘Na Ya Tal’ and ‘Wose Mmaa Pe Wo’. Speaking on Talk Showbiz on eTV on Tuesday night, Tinny said it was wrong for Kwaw to have picked all the awards on that night. He added that even though Kwaw Kese is his friend, he did not deserve all the awards. “After Kwaw Kese got the 5 awards, I killed my mind,” said the Ga rapper.  Although Tinny conceded that Kwaw was perhaps the biggest act during that year he insisted “something went wrong” to enable him win all of those awards. Tinny also took a swipe at other artists including Keche. He said that artists like Sarkodie can only be compared with himself if Sarkodie clocks 10 years in the industry and remains active. Tinny won Ghana Music Awards New Discovery in 2004. The processes for 2013 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards has begun in earnest with the organizers calling for nominations.]]>
