Underrated Watch Brands That Are Actually Worth It

One of the most annoying things that particularly get on our nerves is when something, or someone, doesn’t receive the credit they deserve. Especially when it’s because of factors that are unrelated to the field, they’re supposed to be good at. For example, when a film doesn’t get nominated for an award because of poor publicity.

Underrated Watch Brands That Are Actually Worth It

In our case, however, we’re talking about watches and watchmakers. There are a number of watches out there that deserve recognition as they have really gone above and beyond in terms of quality in watchmaking. This is why we’ve decided to put our efforts into research, to shed light on three brands that the majority often overlooks, whether they are luxury watches online or any watch brand.

1. Ulysse Nardin

The brand, despite being a watchmaking veteran, and having over 50 years of experience, more than Switzerland’s finest luxury watch brands, still remains fairly unrecognized by brand evaluation experts. Keep in mind that this doesn’t mean that their watches are not good enough. If you take a good look at any Ulysse Nardin design, you’ll notice the attention they pay to intricate details and fine movements. Now, if you open up that watch, on the inside you’ll find extremely complex horology which only goes to show the brand’s high level of proficiency. Needless to say, Ulysse Nardin watches are also of extreme accuracy; most designs come with a COSC certificate. Think Smartwatch when you want the absolute best.

2. Invicta

If we say, imagine a luxury watch, what would be your frame of reference? Probably Rolex or Patek Philippe, right? Well, this is what we mean by underrated. In spite of some great watches from Invicta receiving great reviews, the brand still hasn’t had its moment of glory in the sun; yet. Invicta is famous for its attractive designs. As a watchmaker, they concern themselves with the outer details, as well as, the finishing of each watch. As for the insides of their watches, the key feature is the diversity. You’ll find some designs functioning with Swiss Quartz movements, others with Japanese Quartz movements, and of course, all with superior water resistance.

3. Jaeger le Coultre

While the name is known among watch experts, it is not valued as much as it should. JLC is also another example of an extremely experienced brand. One that has been in the market for a lot more than the younger ones which dominate today’s market. In other words, they know what they are doing. They have developed techniques, designs and testing methods that some would consider revolutionary. Craftsmanship, Durability, High Horology is all categories in which JLC excels. Overall, the brand is considered an elite watchmaker, which is why it’s not known among most people and so, it fails to receive the attention it deserves.

From the information we’ve gathered during research, we noticed that these companies are not necessarily worse than the top watchmakers; some even match in quality. So, this is what we’ve deduced: these companies make amazing watches with quality components; yet, they’re not advertising themselves properly. Our main point is, just because a brand is undervalued doesn’t mean their products are of a low quality. They’re just not recognized in their own time; like Vincent Van Gogh.
