Video: Waje to Quit Music because it is not Making her any Money

Nigerian singer, Waje, has decided it’s time to quit music. According to her, she is putting in so much money into her career and making no returns.

Waje took to social media to announce her decision with her fans. In a series of videos seen on BellaNaija’s Instagram, the singer said that she was frustrated and angry at the whole situation.

Complaining to a friend on phone, Waje bemoaned the fact she was not willing to invest anymore in her music career.


“I have so many responsibilities to take care of and my music keeps taking the bulk of my money, I’m not willing to put in money there again,” she said in the video.

Waje also added that people kept asking for a new album because she hadn’t released one in years. When she did however, it is not been patronised.

“I released an album after everybody has been shouting ‘Waje, your last album is how many years ago?’ All the people that were shouting, where are they?” she asked.

Creatives and entrepreneurs all around Nigeria have since been commenting in solidarity with her after she revealed her struggles with the music industry.
