After a life-changing debut for its second season, Vodafone’s healthline TV show, highlights the great work of Dr. Imoro Azumah, a community doctor, philanthropist and Deputy Chief Physician Assistant of Abuakwa Health Centre.
Dr. Imoro was featured in the second Healthline episode for his exceptional contribution to his community through his selfless dedication to his job and the wellbeing of his patients. Dr Imoro explained that he chose to enter the medical profession because there were no doctors in his area when he was growing up and felt that in personally addressing this issue, he could make a significant contribution to his country. The only Doctor treating the four thousand and more patients that visit his clinic each month; he works every day of the week pointing out that that his true motivation comes from making a difference in people’s lives.
Having spent over 17 years at the Abuakwa Health Centre in Abuakwa, Ashanti Region, the show revealed that Dr Azumah has made his patients’ health and wellness an utmost priority. He’s the only Doctor that looks after the 4000 and more patients that visit his clinic each month. This has often meant using his own resources to finance the services and medication of some patients, particularly students from nearby schools.
