Fast-rising Ghanaian singer, Wantinq has made a daring entry into the world of AfroBeats and AfroPop with the official release of his much-awaited sophomore EP, “Midway Between Love and Affection.”

“Midway Between Love and Affection” features a thoughtfully chosen collection of songs that highlight Wantinq’s musical prowess.

The five-track project officially ushers the young artist into the mainstream AfroBeats and AfroPop scene. Slow singing catchy tunes and insightful lyrics that explore the intricacies of relationships together with smooth flowing, slow to mid-tempo melodies fill the entire project. From the pulsating rhythms of Afrobeats to the melodious tunes of Afropop, the EP invites listeners to embark on a sonic journey that explores the intricate dance between love and affection. Each track is a chapter in Wantinq’s musical narrative, with themes that resonate universally.

Wantinq opens the EP with “Agyeiwaa,” a mid-tempo song that talks about the traditional practice of knocking. Here, the artist sings about going to officially ask for “Agyeiwaa’s” hand in marriage. What better to be a love doctor than to preach about marriage?

“You Know” that definitely screams that “baby girl I got love for you” as Reiss Davis from Nashville-United Kingdom seamlessly complements Wantinq to continue preaching about love on the second track. The best guest verse you will hear all year round on any song is that double masterpiece of vocals and pen game delivered by Reiss Davis.

As a true storyteller, and a testament of the intentional planning of the EP, Wantinq calls for some “Healing” from his “Lady for Life ” on tracks four and five respectively. The duet on “Lady for Life ” is so heartwarming and the silkiest possible one in the current AfroPop soundscape.

“Midway Between Love and Affection” closes with Yaw Jay from Accra-Ghana on “Soul Winner” produced by Anthem.

Wantinq has released the perfect project to win some more souls. His intentional planning of the EP with the choice of songs coupled with his talent for producing songs that resonate well with his audience will go a long way to sustain his sudden rise.

With its genre-blurring sound, “Midway Between Love and Affection” is poised to capture the attention of a global audience.
