We need ‘utmost privacy’ – Family of the late Mawuena Adzo Trebarh Requests

The Dumor and Allied Families have solemnly requested ‘utmost privacy’ following the heart-wrenching announcement of the passing of their beloved Daughter, husband, sister and mother, Mawuena Adzo Trebarh.

 

The families, in a statement issued on Friday, April 12, 2024, disclosed that the late Mawuena passed on to glory in the evening of Wednesday, 10th April 2024, after a recent period of illness.

They further stated that funeral arrangements for their beloved daughter will be announced in due time.

“Funeral announcements will be announced in due time. The family requests utmost privacy at this time,” the statement said.

This poignant plea underscores the family’s deep need for solitude as they navigate through this period of mourning and grief.

The late Mawuena was a Ghanaian businesswoman and was also  the first female CEO of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC). She was also the first female underground exploration geologist, amidst a 10,000 strong male-workforce mine-site in the Ashanti Region.

She was also the first female Board Chairperson of Movenpick Ambassador Hotel Ghana. Trebah has worked in both the private and public sectors. In 2020, she was named as the deputy spokesperson to the John Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Election 2020 Campaign. She served as the spokesperson and Head of communications for the office of the vice-presidential candidate, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang.

The sister of late Komla Dumor is survived by her husband Flight Lieutenant Divine Trebah (Rtd), daughter, brother and father, Prof Ernest Dumor.
