Wizkid and others to inspire Nigerian youths at RealYouthSpeak! Conference 2011

Nigerian youths will this August enjoy an inspiring youth conference featuring several young achievers from a various fields of endeavour from within Nigeria, and the rest of the world. The RealYouthSpeak! Conference 2011, under the theme, ‘Own Your Future’ is geared towards making sure that the youths get on with the responsibility at hand rather than expecting answers from people. It makes you seek for the answers within yourself. By listening to inspiring youth achievers from emerging economies like Nigeria, the RealYouthSpeak! Conference encourages hope and a spirit of ‘get up and do it.’

Speakers include: 20 year-old Indian serial inventor and TED Fellow, Apurv Mishra; 21 year-old Brazilian motivational speaker, Pedro de Abreu; 15 year-old Indian-Austrian speaker and commentator, Clemens Oellinger-Guptara; 19 year-old Nigerian model, Victoria Okafor (winner, 2010/2011 Miss Nigeria-UK); 22 year-old internationally acclaimed author and Wall Street Journal columnist, Jyoti Guptara; 21 year-old Nigerian music star, Wizkid and many more.

Nigeria is a country where over 65% of its population are considered to be youths, it is therefore important to harness the youths into making them believe in their own future, especially when there is so much despair amongst them; no jobs, lack of quality education, insecurity and low life expectancy as well as poor medical attention, where also the title youth is most abused and people well over 50 parade themselves as youths.

The RealYouthSpeak! Conference is designed in such a way that everyone is involved actively. Participants will be chosen randomly from personal statements.  The bio-data of speakers will be available to allow participants to engage with the speakers on their own fields of interest. There will be also Q & A sessions, lunchtime, entertainment, networking and panels. Through the theme, speakers and participants will explore an eclectic mix of topics to help young people in making strong decisions in their lives.
