It appears that Ghana will soon have an addition to its growing stock of female film makers, which already include the likes of Leila Djansi and Shirley Frimpong-Manso. Evelyn Robinson hails from Osu but spent most of her youthful years in the United Kingdom. She attended the University of Exeter, UK, where she graduated with distinction in MSc Financial Analysis and Fund Management. Her undergraduate degree was from the University of Buckingham, UK, where she read Business and Management. Discovering her talent in cinematic story writing, she enrolled for a Directing course at the Met Film School in London, UK.  Her love for writing has earned her an enviable skill in writing stories for film.

Evelyn has always been known for her excellence thereby bringing numerous awards to her table. Her first production was a TV series titled, ‘Pressure’, which will soon air on national TV.  She wrote and directed the series which features a group of eight friends (four young men and four ladies) who meet under some strange circumstances years after completing university.

Her second production ‘Announcement’ is a feature film which was co-written with Sir Eugene Osei Denkyi. It tells the story of a church is in chaos. Why? Harriet, the eleven year old daughter of Rev. Martin Sam has been kidnapped by Samuel Mama, a young man who managed to break out of prison seven years into his life sentence.  Samuel Mama is demanding that Rev. Sam makes a public announcement that he Rev Sam committed the crime for which he Samuel Mama was imprisoned for if he wants his daughter alive. How will the reverend handle this? How will the church embrace the news? One question that lingers on the mind of all interested parties- Did Rev. Sam really commit the crime?

This suspense-filled story draws the line between living and existing. It’s almost unbearable due to the unceasing suspense embedded in it. Don’t miss the exciting turn of event with suspense filled episode to hit your screens.  We call it a nightmare scenario guaranteed to make the audiences’ blood run cold. This intriguing and award winning movie is the first of its kind that will make you glued to your seat.

The movie features stars like Adjetey Anang, David Dontoh, Anthony Woode, Doris Sackitey, Kafui Danku, Amanda Jissih, Fred Amugi, Albert Jackson-Davis and Peter Ritchie amongst others. It will premiere at the National Theatre on January 31
