yoyo tinz annouce fundraiser for their first African hip hop festival

<![CDATA[yoyo tinz is an organisation aiming at documenting, promoting and archiving the African hip hop culture through in depth articles, interviews, documentaries, panel discussions, concerts. Established in 2013 by Selorm Jay, the Accra based start up will be celebrating 5 years of existence in 2018. On that occasion they wish to organise their very first festival in November 2018, in Accra – GHANA. The yoyo tinz festival will be two-day-physical enactments of all the work yoyo tinz does in highlighting hip hop culture in its fullness – representing all the elements – rap, graffiti, beatboxing, breakdancing, DJing as well as photography, fashion, cinema. In the past, yoyo tinz has helped outfits like Alliance Française Accra, organise successful hip hop festivals. They have also consistently, since 2014, had thrilling, magnificent yoyo tinz appearances at the very popular annual Chale Wote Street Art Festival in Accra, with their crowd-pulling ability increasing by the year – into thousands. The yoyo tinz festival will be the opportunity to replicate these past events with a twist. This time the organisation aims at bigger things: bigger venue, bigger audience, more international artists, more activities and so on. yoyo tinz is convinced that quality comes at a cost. They believe it is high time that people working in the cultural sector get paid for their work, just like any other professionals. This time around they want everyone involved in the festival to get paid: volunteers, artists, technicians, cleaners, photographers… Unfortunately in Ghana where there are based, very few opportunities to finance such an initiative and that is why they seek your support and have launch a big crowdfunding campaign via indiegogo and PayPal.
