President of the Creative Arts Council, Mark Okraku Mantey has kicked against the idea of opening back up night clubs in the country.

His comments come after management of a club in Accra in an interview with GBAfrica stated they are ready to observe all the protocols so they can be back in business.

“we have been bearing the consequences of the lockdown alone without any financial support,” the manager stated in the interview.

However, speaking in an interview with Hitz Fm, Mark Okraku Mantey kicked against the idea stating that although he knows times have been hard, it is unsafe for the clubs to open back up.

“Some night clubs are like radio and tv studios with no windows. Let’s keep doing what’s right and let’s not follow our passion for how we want to jam or our night club life.

“I know how hard we have been hit and it hasn’t affected just the night club owners but I do not think we are there yet,” he added.
