Burna Boy and Wizkid nominated for B.E.T Awards 2021, Ghana snubbed

The nominees for the 2021 B.E.T Awards is out and two of Africa’s superstars, Burna Boy and Wizkid are contending in the “Best International Act” category.

This year, the nominees for the “Best International Ac”  include; Aya Nakamura (France), Burna Boy (Nigeria), Diamond Platnumz (Tanzania), Emicida (Brazil), Headie One (Uk), Wizkid (Nigeria), Young T & Bugsey (Uk), Youssoupha (France).

Not a single Ghanaian made it to the list this year.

Meanwhile, Megan Thee Stallion and DaBaby are the top nominees for the 2021 BET Awards, with seven nods each. The show will air live on Sunday, June 27 from the Microsoft Theater at L.A. Live in Los Angeles. BET will air the show at 8 p.m. ET/ PT

The Ghana Entertainment Awards USA is proud to announce that it will be honoring seven outstanding individuals in the Ghanaian entertainment industry at this year’s event. The 2024 awards ceremony, scheduled for July 6th at the Merkin Hall Theatre, Kauffman Music Center in New York, will recognize the significant contributions of ace musician Prince Bright of Buk-Bak fame, renowned TV and radio host Deloris Frimpong Manso, popularly known as Delay, celebrated music producer & sound engineer Jay Q, ace radio broadcaster Doreen Andoh, and US-based Ghanaian talents MC Papa Links, DJ E Love, and DJ Prince Paul.

Prince Bright, known for his influential role in the music duo Buk-Bak, has been a pivotal figure in the Ghanaian music scene for decades. His contributions have helped shape the sound and direction of modern Ghanaian music.

Delay, a household name in Ghana, has made remarkable strides as a TV and radio host. Her impactful interviews and shows have set new standards in the media industry, making her one of the most respected and influential media personalities in the country.

Jay Q, a legendary music producer and sound engineer, has been instrumental in producing some of Ghana’s biggest hits. His innovative production techniques and dedication to quality have earned him a place among the elite in the music production field.

Doreen Andoh, a highly esteemed radio broadcaster, has been a trailblazer in the media industry for over 2 decades. Her compelling voice and engaging style have captivated audiences for years, earning her a distinguished place in Ghanaian media.

MC Papa Links, DJ E Love, and DJ Prince Paul FSRDJ have each made significant impacts in the entertainment scenes within the Ghanaian diaspora in the US. Their contributions to music and entertainment have fostered a vibrant cultural exchange and brought Ghanaian music to a broader audience.
