Consider 5-year Presidency term, 4 years is not enough- John Dumelo
Ghanaian actor, John Dumelo thinks four years is not enough for Ghana’s Presidents to make any meaningful impact.
John Dumelo, who vied for the Member of Parliament seat for the Ayawaso West Wougon constituency in the 2020 December elections on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress explains that out of the 4 years stipulated to every President, only 2 of those years are used for “effective work.”
John is therefore advocating for the country to consider changing from 4 to a 5 year term.
“4 years is not enough for ANY President/ Gov to function effectively. The first year is used to settle down in the office and the last year for campaign, leaving only 2 years for effective work. We should consider 5 years per term,” he tweeted, Thursday afternoon.
