Exclusive details of Kojo Jones and Raychel’s Peacock-themed traditional wedding

The richness of Ghanaian culture was fully displayed as young business executive Kojo Jones tied the knot in Kumasi.

On Wednesday March 23rd 2022, social media buzzed with videos and photos from the traditional marriage ceremony  Emmanuel Kojo Jones Mensah and Raychel Osei.

Raychel Osei is a UK- born Ghanaian who has lived in the UK for most of her life.

The event which took place in Kumasi saw the groom and the bride dazzle in customised kente fused with modern fashion

The 400-guest capacity event, saw high profile personalities grace the occasion.

Emmanuel Jones-Mensah, popularly called Kojo Jones is the founder of Empire Domus.  Kojo Jone’s father is the late Justice Emmanuel Kofi Mensah (the son of Livingstone Akapko Jones-Mensah who had moved to Cameroon as the Chief Financial Officer of Unilever). Justice Emmanuel Kofi Mensah thereafter obtained a Masters in Constitutional Law at the Stumondt Law College in Belfast Ireland, becoming the first Cameroonian/Ghanaian to read constitutional law.

After his move to Ghana in 1971, he served as the Chief Justice of The Gambia. He thereafter was the Justice of the Superior Courts of Ghana. He was the Vice Presidential candidate of the PNC now CPP party with President Liman and the Chairman of the CPP party.

Justice Emmanuel Kofi Mensah’s  second marriage was to Laura Kanyi Tometi with whom he had  Edwin Kojo Jones- Mensah, Mrs. Evita Jones- Mensah Abiloye, Gwendolyn Jones- Mensah, and Penelope Mawulolo Jones- Mensah in addition to his other children, Torshie Jones- Mensah,Victor Ndip Mensah, and Beatrice Mensah Tayui.

His third marriage was to Gifty Lamptey with whom he had two sons, Emmanuel Jones-Mensah and David Kobla Jones- Mensah.  Gifty Lamptey was married to the late David Lamptey, the owner and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Radio XYZ and Sidalco Group of Companies. He was also a Member of Parliament for the Klottey-Korle Constituency.
