The husband and former manager of Celine Dion, Rene Angelil has died from cancer. René Angélil, 73, passed away on Thursday morning at his home in Las Vegas after a long and courageous battle against cancer, according to reports.
“The family requests that their privacy be respected at the moment; more details will be provided at a later time,” according to a post on Dion’s website. Angélil, Dion’s longtime collaborator, stepped aside as his wife’s manager in June 2014 because of his battle with cancer. That August, Dion put her career on a temporary hold to help him fight the disease.
