AZA Finance partners Naaw By Beautiful Soul to launch African Women Leadership Programme
AZA Finance, a fintech company founded in Nairobi, in partnership with Beautiful Soul a digital leadership development platform is set to launch its African Women Leadership Programme on Thursday, November 11, 2021 at 5pm.
The programme, dubbed ‘Growing Africa’s Future Leaders in Fintech’, is aimed at increasing the percentage of African women in fintech, and to equip them with tools to increase their likelihood of reaching high management positions. The programme will bring together African women who are interested in the fintech sector and mentor, train and coach them.
So far, the about nine-month training programme has selected 250 women who have registered to be mentored and tomorrow’s launch will kick start the process. Other women who wished to join the training can participate in Thursday’s webinar to register and will get the opportunity to receive concrete ideas to spearhead their career.
According to the organizers, women, especially African women, face significant challenges in climbing the ladder of leadership positions in the fintech sector and they believe that providing foundational soft skills as well as career skills will equip them with the tools needed to succeed in their professional and personal life while creating a positive impact in the industry and the continent.
Requirements for the programme
Interested persons must have interest or work in Fintech, be African, bilingual (English required) and must have experience/ background in engineering, product management, data analysis, business intelligence analysis and customer service.

Burna Boy cancels Netherlands concert, promises tickets refund
The highly anticipated concert by Grammy-winning Nigerian artist Burna Boy, slated for June 9th at the Johan Cruyff Arena Stadium in the Netherlands, has been called off.
Burna Boy personally relayed the disappointing news via his Instagram account, citing the event organizers’ failure to uphold their part of the agreement as the reason behind the cancellation.
Expressing his regret over the situation, Burna Boy assured fans that ticket holders would receive full refunds directly from their original point of purchase within the next 30 days.
In an Instagram post on Thursday, May, 2, 2024 the ‘On the low’ hitmaker emphasized the importance of fulfilling contractual obligations and thanked his fans for their support, signing off with a message of love and anticipation for future gatherings.
“We regret to inform you that due to a failure by the event organisers to meet their contracted obligations, Burna Boy’s concert at the stadium on June 9th 2024 has been cancelled.
“All ticket buyers will be refunded from the point of purchase within 30 days. Love you and see you soon,” he wrote.
