Black Sherif, Amaarae, OB Amponsah, others earn nominations in 2022 Entertainment Achievement Awards

Nominees of the second edition of the Entertainment Achievement Awards have been announced.

The announcement was done live on Citi TV and 97.3 Citi FM on Tuesday, February 8, 2022.

After receiving hundreds of entries from the public, the EAA Academy made up of professionals from the various subfields of the arts industry, whittled down the list through their expertise by critically examining the works of the nominees in the year under review.

The Entertainment Achievement Awards, organised by Citi TV, celebrates entertainers and entertainment industry players who have distinguished themselves in the practice of their art.

This year’s award will honour people in the showbiz sector whose works fall within the 2021 eligibility year.

The scheme covers areas such as sports, music, film, fashion, photography, media, writing, comedy, among others.

Davido To Headline Second Annual Tribeville Featuring Wande Coal, Young John & More

Tribeville returns to The Lawn at White Oak Music Hall in Houston, Texas on Friday, July 5 for its second annual edition. Headlined by Afrobeats king Davido, the music festival from acclaimed event promoter and production company Duke Concept is a celebration of Black music from around the world united under one tribe.

In addition to Davido’s headlining performance, Tribeville will host fellow Nigerian acts Wande Coal and Young John, Grenadian singer V’ghn, Trinidadian soca artist Preedy, Nigerian singer-songwriter Chike, Afrorap act Bils, Alté group The Compozers, and South African rapper Focalistic, along with DJ sets by Skyla Tylaa, Babygirl The DJ, DJ Mobu, DJ Obi & DJ Big N, and many more.

Tribeville launched its inaugural edition in April 2023 with a lineup featuring Adekunle Gold, Oxlade, Victony, Libianca, and more. Returning this year, Tribeville follows Duke Concept’s first-ever all-Ghanaian music festival Rolling Cocoa in Washington, D.C. and Davido’s monumental headline stop at New York City’s Madison Square Garden. Tribeville will continue Duke Concept’s mission to bring the vibrant flavors of Africa and the Caribbean to stages across the U.S. and beyond.

Burna Boy cancels Netherlands concert, promises tickets refund

Burna Boy Breaks Several Milestones on Apple Music

The highly anticipated concert by Grammy-winning Nigerian artist Burna Boy, slated for June 9th at the Johan Cruyff Arena Stadium in the Netherlands, has been called off.

Burna Boy personally relayed the disappointing news via his Instagram account, citing the event organizers’ failure to uphold their part of the agreement as the reason behind the cancellation.

Expressing his regret over the situation, Burna Boy assured fans that ticket holders would receive full refunds directly from their original point of purchase within the next 30 days.

In an Instagram post on Thursday, May, 2, 2024 the ‘On the low’ hitmaker emphasized the importance of fulfilling contractual obligations and thanked his fans for their support, signing off with a message of love and anticipation for future gatherings.

“We regret to inform you that due to a failure by the event organisers to meet their contracted obligations, Burna Boy’s concert at the stadium on June 9th 2024 has been cancelled.

“All ticket buyers will be refunded from the point of purchase within 30 days. Love you and see you soon,” he wrote.
