Award-winning Ghanaian Journalist, Oheneyere Gifty Anti has stated that men are afraid of powerful women.

According to the host of popular talk show, “The Standpoint” on GTV, men always claim to support women, however, once they realise said women are going higher and assertive, they become afraid of them.

“It is a fact. Every man is afraid of a powerful woman. Everybody is afraid of a powerful woman. They keep saying they support this style, but when they see you climbing higher and higher and becoming more assertive, things change,” she stated in a recent interview on Onua FM.

To buttress her point, the celebrated Talk Show host explained that it is always unfair when men tend to attach ‘rudeness” to confident and successful women.

“People have this perception that powerful women, confident women, and successful women are rude. Listen, I always say those are their individual characters. We all have different characters. So maybe poverty was suppressing their rudeness, and it’s in men, it’s in women. We’ve seen it all,” she explained.

To add to her point, Oheneyere explained how individuals change once they attain some form of power.

“We’ve seen people when they are low, especially political leaders when they are campaigning. After they secure power, they act differently. It cuts across both men and women. But some people are not changed by their situations,” she added.
