Growing up, I wanted to be a pilot – Camidoh
Ghanaian singer Camidoh recently shared his childhood aspiration of becoming a pilot, revealing how his life took a turn after a moment at an internet cafe.
“I wanted to be a pilot, to be honest that’s the truth, when I was growing up I wanted to be a pilot” he said.
The “Sugarcane” hitmaker emphasized the profound influence of the internet, recounting how listening to Akon’s music introduced him to a new world, ultimately redirecting his destiny. Speaking at the YouTube and Tunecore Culture Brunch in Accra, Camidoh highlighted the internet’s role in shaping the career choices of young individuals, underscoring its ability to provide cultural exposure and inspiration from across the globe.
Reflecting on this, he stated, ‘One time I had to follow my cousin to the Internet cafe to do a thing or two and he said you know what, let me play you some Akon, and then he played me Akon and that’s just when my life changed. “So what I’m saying basically is that’s literally one great importance of the internet, it gives you culture from the other side of the world, inspires you and may even change your whole destiny”
