kameko1American singer, KAMEKO who is currently in Ghana has announced Grammy winning artist, Chrisette Michele as the latest addition to his international tour, kicking off in Africa. Chrisette Michele officially signs on to join pop/rock/soul artist KAMEKO for his “Tired of Being Broke” Musical Stimulus Gift Package Tour, endorsed by music legend Rita Marley who will be making guest appearances throughout the tour. The tour will kick off at Liberia’s ATS Stadium on March 19. Liberia’s president Ellen Johnson Sirleaf is the honored guest at the 15,000 seat arena.

KAMEKO is a Baltimore native that has packed venues and built a legion of devoted followers abroad over the last few years. He has also collaborated with A-list talents such as Erykah Badu, Grace Jones, Vanessa Williams and more. The “Tired of Being Broke” single will be released through Tarpaul Records/Interscope Distribution, available on iTunes and other digital outlets March.  The album features tracks produced by Marc Cary (BET jazz artist of the year winner), Paulo Goude (son of legendary singer/model Grace Jones and fashion icon, Jean Paul-Goude), Nayrok Udab (sister of Erykah Badu) and M1 of Dead Prez.

Water.org, a non-profit organization co-founded by Oscar winning actor Matt Damon and executive director Gary White, recently announced its partnership with KAMEKO and the tour. “Water.org is excited to be KAMEKO’s charity partner as part of the ‘Tired of Being Broke’ tour,” said Gary White, “the tour is a wonderful opportunity to help raise people’s spirits through the power of music and at the same time, to raise funds needed to help bring clean water to those in need around the world.” The tour will be sponsored by Carver Federal Savings Bank, with Rolling Out Magazine as the tour’s U.S. media sponsor.

During this tour, KAMEKO will offer financial assistance to various charities such as The Mali Health Project and Habitat for Humanity through a portion of tour proceeds, product giveaways and coupons from sponsors for discounts on food, clothing and various necessities.

“Music is a medium of teaching and learning,” says Rita Marley, widow of Bob Marley, “…that’s why I chose to endorse KAMEKO’s effort and want to be part of it.”

Rita Marley and KAMEKO were recently featured in Rolling Out and Sister 2 Sister Magazine. They will be featured in an upcoming issue of Essence Magazine.  LISTEN to ‘Tired of being broke’
