Highlife sensation Akwaboah after keeping his fans and music lovers in suspense quite some time has finally unveiled his much anticipated Lighthouse album.

Akwaboah’s Lighthouse album follows on the heels of Matters of Heart album released to critical acclaim in 2018 and the Lighthouse EP released in December 2021.

According to the artist, he had to briefly shelve the project in order to finish with the funeral activities of his late father Kwadwo Akwaboah who sadly passed this year.

Lighthouse album is an 11 track album which features his ex-label mates Sarkodie and Strongman, as well as Efya, Adina, Kwabena Kwabena, Txt and Nana Asaase.

Through this album, Akwaboah intends to be recognized as the Lighthouse of Ghana music. A flagbearer of Highlife music who is still musically gifted to produce songs also in other genres like Afro fusion, Afrobeat and even Reggae. The title Lighthouse is itself a metaphor and in many ways symbolic of what Akwaboah the brand and musician wants to be known for.

Akwaboah with this album is alluding to himself as that authentic Ghanaian Highlife maestro who is grounded in the time tested genre of Highlife and is a light that perpetually directs people towards good and timeless music.

Akwaboah who has to his credit, production of Sarkodie’s critically acclaimed Mary album in 2015 has intimated that he put his heart and soul into creating a timeless album that his fans and music lovers will enjoy and appreciate for years to come.

According to him, core fans who live for love ballads are not forgotten on the album. Akwaboah is also planning a Lighthouse Concert in December ahead of his annual Valentine’s day Shades of Love concert in February next year.
