CBS This Morning has shared an emotional tribute to Freda Ocran, a former head nurse at NYC’s Jacobi Medical Center, who died of the coronavirus.

She was 50. Her son said she “gave herself undoubtedly to the church, to her work and to her kids.”

On Saturday, March 28, New York State Nursing (NYSNA) lost Freda Ocran, RN, a psychiatric nurse at Jacobi Medical Center. Freda had previously worked at several other Bronx hospitals, including North Central Bronx and Bronx Lebanon Hospital.

NYSNA wrote on their website: “Freda’s friend Dinah Bampoe shared photos with us, along with this remembrance: “Freda Ocran, RN, a 51 year old nurse, was a wife, a mother, a sister and a friend. Albert Einstein said, ‘The value of a man should be seen in what he gives, and not in what he is able to receive.’ That is Freda, a selfless individual who gave her all, and died doing what she loved. Missing you already. Rest in perfect peace.”
