Article Wan Kicks Off his Sanitation Initiative with the Buz stop boys

Published

on

In recent times, the bus stop boys have been spearheaded community mobilization and youth development initiatives through sanitation. The group of youth volunteers rose from social media fame by cleaning various local communities in Accra. A truly accountable group of young men who has gained massive support from the general public who contribute to their cause through donations and applauds. They have shared about 20 areas in Accra within the last few months.

Today, an Award winning singer, producer and songwriter Article Wan threw his support to this initiative. As national advocacy, Article Wan believes the rise of the youth toward development is the solution to the current crisis in Ghana. He believes the country needs more young people to stand up to the change we need. The system is not working and we can’t depend on our leaders but to go on the streets to get the work done. He added that, sanitation is not a blame game as it has always been, but if we stand up to clear the streets, our health would be safer.

During the clean up exercise, the team raised concerns on various equipments needed to facilitate the cleaning process. The award winning hitmaker joined the boys to clear the sand-choked gutters at the Dzorwulu Footbridge from morning till the evening. His motivation was rooted in his experience around the world and how the energetic youthful population could be used as a catalyst to development in Ghana and Africa as a whole.

Article Wan shared his passion for sanitation and waste management education as his contribution towards national development. As a result, he is using this opportunity as a platform to begin his sanitation and waste management awareness program initiative in Ghana. On his next move, he intends to canvass community engagement from his homeground ‘Abossey Okai’ in the heart of Accra.

It is interesting to see the first artiste from Ghana to support the buz stop boys initiative and Article Wan has set the pace for all other artists to join forces to mitigate sanitation issues in our dear nation.
