Renowned Nigerian singer/songwriter, Temilade Openiyi, widely known as Tems, has asserted that being a Nigerian is tough.

The ‘Me & U’ crooner, in an exclusive interview on London-based Kiss FM opened up about her experience navigating through the difficulties of her hometown, shedding light on the terrible reality that many Nigerians face.

“Being a Nigerian woman is a miracle. Because being a Nigerian, for anybody, is tough. But
I think if you can tap into your gifts and own who you are and be unapologetic about it, and
take that to the world, that is an honour,” she said.
