In a culinary spectacle that captured the attention of food enthusiasts in Ghana and worldwide, Ghana’s Chef Faila’s bid for the longest cooking marathon has taken an unexpected turn as the Guinness World Records (GWR) committee has disqualified her attempt.

The seasoned chef, born Failatu Abdul Razak, aimed to surpass the existing record record for continuous cooking, showcasing endurance and tremendous cooking skills.

The disqualification hinged on adherence to predefined guidelines, a crucial aspect of GWR endeavors.

In a statement shared on Facebook on Sunday, March 3, 2024, the culinary sensation, despite the unfortunate news conveyed her appreciation for the overwhelming support received throughout her culinary endeavor.

“A statement from the Records Management Team cited a violation of the rest break rules, resulting in an unsuccessful attempt,” the statement said.
Regardless of the setback, GWR commended Chef Faila and encouraged her to pursue future record attempts.

Although this attempt did not result in a world record, it has been an invaluable experience. I am proud of the dedication and hard work put forth, and I am committed to continuing to push boundaries in the culinary world,” she added.
