Commemorative gold coin honouring Otumfuo to be launched in December

Published

on

There will be a colorful traditional ceremony to officially launch the ‘Otumfuo Commemorative Gold Coins’ during the last Akwasidae festival of the year on December 12, 2021, at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi, Ghana — the citadel of the Asante Kingdom.

The enviable honor, among other things, is especially in recognition of the enormous roles played by the Asantehene (Asante King) Otumfuo Osei Tutu II in helping to restore total peace in the Dagbon Kingdom, in the Northern Region of Ghana.

Also, it is to honor the 16th occupant of the revered Golden Stool of Asanteman, for the fatherly roles that he continues to play during electioneering periods to ensure peace in the state, especially during the transition of political power from one political party to another in Ghana.

Furthermore, the essence of this memorable launch is also to acknowledge the King for his tremendous roles in helping to expand the frontiers of traditional leadership beyond Ghana and the African continent, a development that has elevated the chieftaincy institution to a much higher pedestal and ushered it into modernity.

The Bank of Ghana’s Approval

The Bank of Ghana has already given approval to E ON 3 Group to mint the gold coins to honor His Royal Majesty’s successful reign since his ascension to the Golden Stool 22 years ago following his enstooled April 26, 1999.

Features of the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene Commemorative Gold Coin:

The face of the gold coin will bear the image of His Majesty, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II with the Adinkra symbols “Bi Nka Bi” and “Mpatapo,” which symbolize peace, harmony, and reconciliation.

Commemorative Gold Coin in honor of Asante King

The reverse of the gold coin will bear an image of the Golden Stool of Asanteman also known as “Sika Dwa.” Legend has it that the ‘Sika Dwa’, which symbolizes the soul of the Asante people was commandeered from the Heavens and landed on the lap of the first Asante King, Otumfuo Osei Tutu I.

These gold coins, we hope, will be valuable collector’s items as they are of 99.9% assay at 24 carats fine gold, with a diameter of 37.00 mm and a weight of 31.104 grams.

Several distinguished and high-profile personalities as well as other delegates from both local and international agencies have been invited to grace the occasion and help make it a resounding success.

Osei Tutu II born Nana Barima Kwaku Duah; 6 May 1950) is in direct succession to the 17th-century founder of the Ashanti Empire, Otumfuo Osei Tutu I. He is also the Chancellor of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, Ghana and the Grand Patron of the Grand Lodge of Ghana, and the Sword Bearer of the United Grand Lodge of England.

How to clean parquet floors?

Published

on

Parquet flooring is very durable and reliable, and because it is very economical, most of the houses have parquet flooring in some areas. Parquet flooring can be used in any type of room. These factors make it very famous, but with some benefits, there are also some disadvantages of using it. For example, cleaning parquet flooring is very difficult because dirt and debris get stuck in the space where two parquet flooring pieces are joined together. So, it becomes challenging for us to clean parquet floors without damaging the flooring pieces. However, by following this helpful guide, you will know how to clean parquet floors. In this article, we will discuss that in detail.

  1. Vacuum the floor:

Vacuuming the floor is the most effective way to get rid of unwanted dust particles. Although parquet flooring is very durable, sometimes it cracks. So, dirt starts gathering in those cracks, and it becomes overwhelming for us to remove it. In that situation, vacuum cleaning will help a lot. It will remove all the dust particles from the cracks and even from the gaps between the flooring. So, do vacuum cleaning at least twice a week if your family is large, but for small families, vacuum cleaning once a week is perfect.

  1. Sweeping:

Regular sweeping is also very important. We know that it will not remove stains, and it will not remove stuck dust, but sweeping removes the excessive dirt particles, which, to a large extent, prevent the particles from getting into the flooring. It is known that once the dust particles get in the flooring, then they cannot be removed easily. So, it is a good practice to sweep several times a day, and you cannot do that; make sure you sweep at least 1-3 times.

  1. Mopping:

Mopping after vacuuming is the most effective way to clean the parquet floors. The reason it is behind vacuuming is that vacuuming the floor does not include the use of water. On the other hand, mopping will be done by using water. Most of the parquet floors are not waterproof. Use of water in small amounts will not be detrimental, but mopping parquet floors every day may damage the flooring. So, you should mop the floor, but not more than once every two weeks. If thorough cleaning is required, or you are trying to remove any stain, then mopping is perfect for such situations.

Conclusion:

It can be hard for you to clean parquet flooring, but our guide will help you a lot. As vacuum cleaners cause no damage to the parquet floors, you should do it as much as possible to prevent the debris from getting into the cracks and gaps. One thing to keep in mind is that you would have to clean your floor every day, or else it becomes very difficult to clean it.

How to Prepare for Wisdom Teeth Removal

Published

on

Wisdom teeth are the last teeth to come in, usually between the ages of 17 and 25. While it’s normal to have four wisdom teeth, some people don’t have any at all, which can result in more than one wisdom tooth growing in at the same time, or one wisdom tooth that comes up but doesn’t fully erupt through the gum line. Either of these scenarios can result in damage to the teeth, jawbone, and even nearby nerves. This guide will show you how to prepare for wisdom teeth removal so you can get back to your regular routine as soon as possible.

What are Wisdom Teeth?

Often referred to as third molars, wisdom teeth are one of four sets of molars that grow at random times during your life. They typically start growing between ages 17 and 25. Third molars usually don’t start forming until later in life because your mouth needs space to house them comfortably; once they begin, however, there isn’t enough room for them and they can push up against other teeth and cause damage. This is why many people choose to have their wisdom teeth removed; it’s important to think about how you plan on paying for it beforehand, though.

Why do I need them removed?

It’s estimated that up to 90% of people who have their wisdom teeth removed still experience pain or infection after surgery. This is usually because they weren’t properly prepared for surgery, didn’t take time off work/school, and/or didn’t stay on top of post-surgery treatments. To avoid any issues with your wisdom teeth, it’s important that you know why they’re being removed—and what you can do about it before your surgery date arrives. It’s also important that you prepare yourself emotionally and financially before hand; read on to learn how!

Who should get them removed?

For those of you who haven’t had your wisdom teeth extracted, but don’t want to wait until a problem arises with them, there are a few things you can do to prevent a potential future issue. First and foremost, maintain good oral hygiene. Flossing and brushing your teeth twice per day will help remove any debris that could potentially cause an infection once your wisdom teeth grow in. Not only is good oral hygiene important for preventing cavities or gum disease from forming around your mouth, it also helps maintain healthy tooth enamel, which will keep your wisdom teeth from decaying as they come in later on down the road.

Why did they erupt at all?

First, schedule a consultation with your dentist. Second, ask whether you even need to remove your wisdom teeth. If your wisdom teeth are impacted (meaning they grow at an angle instead of straight up and down), but aren’t bothering you or becoming problematic, then keep ’em! They’ll continue moving into their final positions over time. On top of that, there are risks associated with having surgery; if you don’t need it done—then don’t do it! Leave them be. Chances are you’ll never notice they were ever there in the first place!

What can I do if my wisdom teeth aren’t bothering me yet?

While it’s generally recommended that you get your wisdom teeth removed before they become a problem, it’s not always necessary. Unless your wisdom teeth are causing physical discomfort or show signs of causing trouble (like infection), there’s no reason you can’t live with them and see if they bother you in the future. But, if you’re concerned about them and want to get them out sooner rather than later, talk with your dentist about ways to make your wisdom teeth easier to remove. For example, getting orthodontic work done on your other teeth might help give room for your wisdom teeth to come in straight and cause less problems once they break through.

That event was featured in Forbes, with participants raising a recorded $113,000 funding.

And in 2020, despite the devastating impact of the pandemic, the SFAN team soldiered on with a global virtual edition attracting speakers from around the world.

Now in its fourth edition, this year’s Student Entrepreneurship Week receives partnership from Loveworld Next and Loveworld Business Network and will focus on the theme “The Next Frontier of Innovation and Leadership.”

Tom-Chris Emewulu, Founder and President of SFAN says: “When I was a student entrepreneur, a certain academic figure told me that it was a terrible idea and I might not graduate. But I graduated with a First Class honor. Of course, it was a challenging process because I had to learn a lot. Hence, I created Student Entrepreneurship Week to help co-dreamers and innovators find direction and build their careers.”

Don’t miss this mind-bending experience. You can join the event onsite or online. SFAN’s partner Loveworld Next will be hosting a live pitch session called The Next Big Thing Pitch Battle with a $20,000 cash prize up for grabs. The event will also be awarding three student entrepreneurs with the prestigious Student Entrepreneur of The Year Award.
