Cwesi Oteng announces album release in September

<![CDATA[The wait finally seems over with the hint that Cwesi Oteng’s highly anticipated Mercy Project album is due for release in September. The ‘God Dey Bless Me’ hit singer made this known on the Accra-based radio station Hitz FM a few days ago when he was hosted by Lexis  Bill on the station’s flagship morning g programme. ‘I know fans have been calling for the album for a long time know, since 2010, when I released the first single ‘Mercy’ off the album but it has been my team’s plan to record the album over a long period in order to lay our foundation right. God being so good, ‘God Dey Bless Me’ has propelled us onto the heights we expected and everyone is looking out for my next release or the album. The good news therefore is that everything right now points to 30th September at the Conference Centre ’Cwesi revealed. The multiple award-winning artiste is expected to release the two singles prior to the album release. The singles were expected out last week but publishing issues which could not be concluded in time and had to hold back the release. Nevertheless, barring any drawbacks this time round fans should expect two hits, ‘Kabiyesi’ and ‘Love Me So’ in a few days. The new singles, ‘Kabiyesi’ and ‘Love Me So’, according to Cwesi’s management will spearhead the promotion of his Mercy Project album which expected to drop in September via a grand release concert. The new singles when released will add up to a total of four songs released from Cwesi’s upcoming Mercy Project album scheduled for release in September. The album has centralized theme of God’s mercy relayed through sub themes such God’s love, salvation, goodness, blessings and favour carried on creative fusions of rhythms from Afropop, R&B, Highlife, soft Rock, Hip-praise and jazz. The ‘Mercy Project’ album is expected to break barriers and establish Cwesi among the foremost gospel artistes and brands from Africa. ‘The idea is that the gospel is meant for all people and therefore as a team we did not want restriction that has to do with rhythms, genre, style or the creative boxes people have put gospel in over the years. Therefore we ensuring there is a something for any music lover on the album. I expect all fans all over Africa to be blessed by the new singles coming up and the album in general,’ Cwesi explained. Cwesi Oteng’s ‘Mercy Project’ is one of the most anticipated albums of the year. The first prelude single off the album, ‘Mercy (But for Your Mercy)’, released in 2010 and its video later in that year have earned Cwesi massive recognition and raked in many awards including Best Gospel Video at the 2011 4Syte MVA and Best Lyrics for a 2011 Most Wanted Song at the Contemporary Gospel Music Awards. The second single, ‘God Dey Bless Me’, is currently a radio hit all over Ghana breaking barriers for gospel music from Ghana on many African platforms resulting in its video winning Africa’s Video of the Year at the 2012 Africa Gospel Music Awards recently. ‘Kabiyesi’ and ‘Love Me So’ are the next big tunes from Cwesi before he releases his ‘Mercy Project’ album in September.]]>
