Cwesi Oteng releases new single, ‘Love Me So’

Published

on

Cwesi Oteng Love Me So ft. KingzkidAward-winning contemporary Ghanaian Gospel artiste, Cwesi Oteng, has yet again released another hot single, ‘Love Me So’ which many fans predict will be a major hit destined to blaze the trailset by the prolific singer’s crossover banger, ‘God Dey Bless Me’, which is all over Africa and elsewhere breaking new grounds every now and then. ‘Love Me So’ becomes Cwesi Oteng’s fourth official single from his much talked about Mercy Project album which was released via a grand release concert on September 30, after ‘Mercy’, ‘God Dey Bless Me’ and ‘Kabiyesi’. The song was arguably the best ministered song during the concert but could not make it on the album given to patrons that day due to some technical hitches thereby also pushing back the commercial release of the album to early December. ‘For a song we didn’t rehearse but ministered powerfully during the album release concert and impacted many people, we felt we needed to go back to the original plan and put the song on the Mercy Project album. Therefore though the album has been released we have pushed back its commercial release on both virtual (online) and physical music markets for fans to early December while allowing the song to gain momentum all over till that time. It will also allow management to sort out publishing details and work out plans for promotion and shooting of videos,’ Cwesi explained. Cwesi further comments that, ‘It’s amazing the feedback we are getting. ‘Love Me So’ was premiered on Jeremy’s Y Lounge radio show on YFM just this Monday and the demand from many radio stations has been phenomenal. A radio presenter in Zambia sent us an email that her listeners are already buzzing to the song. We are trusting God to let the message in the song touch many lives and draw them to Him in the end because that is all the song is about; God’s unconditional love that is able to forgive the worst of sinners and take them back to Him like the scenario with the prodigal son in the good book.’ ‘Love Me So’ is a follow up to Cwesi’s ‘God Dey Bless Me’. It draws similar time signature from ‘God Dey Bless Me’ but evolves into a classic hip gospel tune on its own with a feature rap by young gospel rap artiste, Kingzkid, and lovely hook from the backing vocals, Flo’Riva Incorporated. The song has Cwesi singing so passionately and surely guarantees it to be another radio hit.  Also, typical of Cwesi’s songs, ‘Love Me So’ carries a deep message, about God’s love and salvation and personifies the sentiments of someone blown away by the work Christ did on the cross. The song is expected to be a great evangelistic tool for Cwesi’s next phase of the Mercy Project and a prelude to the Love Revolution chapter of Mercy Project II. Cwesi Oteng’s ‘Mercy Project’ has been the most anticipated albums of the year. The first prelude single off the album, ‘Mercy (But for Your Mercy)’, released in 2010 and its video later in that year have earned Cwesi massive recognition and raking in many awards including Best Gospel Video at the 2011 4Syte MVA, Ghana Gospel Industry Awards’ New Artiste of the Year 2011 and Best Lyrics for a 2011 Most Wanted Song at the Contemporary Gospel Music Awards. The second single, ‘God Dey Bless Me’, is a radio hit all over Ghana breaking barriers for gospel music from Ghana on many African platforms and elsewhere resulting in its video winning Africa’s Video of the Year at the 2012 Africa Gospel Music Awards recently and earning three nominations at the upcoming MTN-4Syte MVA including ‘Overall Best Video’. Just as how ‘Kabiyesi’ came as a surprise on the album with a strong African praise influence showing Cwesi’s versatility, ‘Love Me So’ is certainly another big tune that will awe fans deep into the Christmas festivities before videos of the two songs drop early next year. ]]>
