DaBaby says he went from getting $300K for a feature to $150K after recent controversy
American rapper, DaBaby has revealed that he now gets half of what he used to get paid for a feature verse after a recent controversy.
DaBaby has demonstrated recently that he still has fire in him. The rapper from North Carolina recently did a freestyles section with Justin Credible on Power 106 in Los Angeles.
During the conversation, DaBaby showcased his versatility by rapping a lengthy freestyle over tracks from Sexyy Red’s “Get It Sexyy” and Future and Metro Boomin’s “Like That.”
DaBaby also touched how his fall from grace affected his earnings.
“Knocked a guy out and hurt my hand, I think I hit him wrong/Just got sent $150,000 and did a song,” he raps. “Used to get $300,000 in 2020 but I’m shaking back/I could start a war with that little money, you guys play, you wacked,” he raps.
Back in November, DaBaby revealed he lost $200 million after his homophobic rant at Rolling Loud. “I don’t regret anything that I done been through. It feels so good to be able say that and mean it. I probably said that before but I ain’t mean it. It’s like ‘Boy I wish I had […] $200million, y’all robbed me,’” he said in an interview with Shannon Sharpe.
He added, “I don’t feel like that. I really feel like that’s a blessing in disguise at this point in my life and I just came to that realization in the past two weeks.”
