Daddy Lumba perfroming at Legends and Legacy BallThe maiden edition of the Legends and Legacy Ball which honoured legendary highlight singer, Daddy Lumba over the weekend would be remembered as a historic event not only for the format it took but the ability of organizers to pull in former presidents JJ Rawlings with his wife, Nana Konadu Agyeman and John Agyekum Kufuor.

The two former presidents who are often portrayed as adversaries, sat together with Daddy Lumba and even danced together during some of the performance on the night. The two also interacted with each other and even shared laughs to the delight of the over 2000 people who attended the show.

The Legends and Legacy Ball honoured the achievements of Daddy Lumba in a career that has spanned over two decades and seen over 27 albums.  The show saw several musicians performing various hits songs from Daddy Lumba much to his delight and that of the crowd before the honouree himself closed the show with a spirited performance. The night saw great performances from Rana, Philipa Baafi, Felix Owusu, Kofi Nti, Kwaw Kesse, KK Fosu, Mzbel, Castro, Nacy of No Tribe fame, Kofi B, Praye among others.

Peace FMs Kwami Sefa Kayi and Akumaa of Adom FM were the hosts for the show. Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) President, Bice ‘Obour’ Osei Kufuor, presented a plaque on behalf of the union and read from the citation on the plaque to Lumba. Organizers of the event,  Imajin Advertising, also presented a 24 carat gold medal, a plaque among others to Daddy Lumba which given to him by a representative from Voice of America and Daddy Lumba’s godmother and former teacher, Mama Acheampong.
