After a successful initial public showing on September 1 -2, ‘Don’t Mess With A Woman’ a play written and directed by renowned playwright Uncle Ebo Whyte , that explores the intricacies of relationships returns to the National Theatre this weekend. There are several reasons why people would enter into a relationship, but for most people, it is because they hope it will end in marriage. So what do you do when after years of courtship, your relationship rather leads another person to the altar? It might seem weird but that was the experience of Naa. She has been in a relationship with her boyfriend Tony for 5 years but throughout their courtship, her man never registered his readiness to settle down. Thus, it was a big shock for Naa when her friend Yaa informed her that Tony was getting married to none other than her best friend, Cynthia. This opens a new chapter in the lives of these four persons. Whiles for Tony, the relationship was over, Naa was sure the relationship was just going through a crisis which would be resolved with time. If the saying “hell hath no fury than a woman scorned” is anything to go by, then Naa’s reaction to her boyfriend’s marriage to her best friend will either prove or dispel this assertion. ‘Don’t Mess with a Woman’ shows at the National Theatre on September 8 and 9. There will be two shows each day at 4pm and 8pm.]]>
