e.tv Ghana dedicates July to promote Ghanaian personalities, products and services

<![CDATA[e.tv Ghana has announced that the month of July, will be dedicated to the promotion of Ghanaian products, services and personalities.  At a press launch held at the plush Silver Lounge, the station also revealed that the initiative, dubbed ‘Made in Ghana’ will be implemented through a number of weekly activities.   The celebration, which is under the theme: “Promoting Local Industries, Services and Entrepreneurship for Sustained Development”, will be spearheaded by the ‘Awake show on e.TV.  Industry tours of some Ghanaian companies will be undertaken from July 3 to July 7 to spotlight their operations. During the following week, 8th – 14th July, e.TV in collaboration with Silverbird, will hold the “Ghana classics” week. During this week, popularly-acclaimed old Ghanaian movies will be shown at the Silverbird cinemas.  The week of July 16 to 20 will witness a celebration of Ghanaian Arts and Culture with an exciting night on July 20th at the Silverbird Cinema. Also, from July 23 – 31, the Silverbird cinemas will host “Ghanafest”, an exhibition of Ghanaian Products, Expertise and Services will be held to climax the month-long activities. The station has also announced a 60 percent reduction in advertising fee on its channel for all local companies and individuals whose activities are geared towards promoting what is Ghanaian General Manager of e.tv John Osei Tutu Agyeman noted that “as a media company, we always ensure that our image is easily identified as Ghanaian foremost before anything else. It is in this regard that we’ve found it essential to bring to Ghanaian homes what helps to maintain our identity and in a lot of ways add value to our culture and economy. Highlighting Made in Ghana product and services is a commitment we want to involve the nation in and that is why July has been set aside to begin this project. We are all very excited about it and hope that at the end of the month, people will be inspired and encouraged to support that which is made in their home country.” The project was officially launched by the Public Relations Officer of the Association of Ghana Industries, Mr Cyril Okpoko who pledged the Association’s wholehearted support to the campaign. Present at the launch was the Tourism Officer from the Ministry of Tourism; Mr Alphonze Kumaza also commended the initiative explained that it would go a long way to attract foreign investors into our country. An official representative from the Ghana Investment Promotion Center (GIPC), Mr Seth Opare shared the same sentiments and challenged everyone to help make the project a success. Ghanaians who have been influential in making and promoting Made in Ghana goods and services will be profiled on the ‘Awake’ show throughout the entire month. The made in Ghana month has been initiated by e.TV Ghana to encourage Ghanaians to patronize made in Ghana goods and services, and also to highlight the critical need to wean the country of its overdependence on everything “foreign”.]]>
