Fred Amugi shares early career struggles, recalls accepting roles for a GH₵20 payment

Renowned Ghanaian actor Fred Amugi shared insights into his early struggles in the industry, recalling a time when he received a meager GH₵20 for a role.

Despite the nominal payment, Amugi, now the brand ambassador for Caveman Watches, emphasized that his passion fueled his acceptance of such roles as a young actor. He encouraged emerging talents to embrace all opportunities and not underestimate the significance of any role in building a solid foundation.

Last year, on his 74th birthday, Amugi expressed a heartfelt wish to see himself featured on a billboard as a brand ambassador. His request sparked a mix of support and criticism, with some viewing it as unnecessary entitlement. However, in subsequent interviews, Amugi clarified that his appeal was a call for job opportunities, emphasizing the importance of utilizing experienced talent while they are still active in their careers.
